Physician Assistants

Brian came to work as a Physician Assistant with South Coast Orthopaedic Associates in February 2008. Brian see’s patients in the Orthopedic Clinic, and assists in surgery cases with the Orthopedic Physicians of the group at the hospitals and in the surgery center. Brian’s dedication and commitment to the well-being of his patient’s shows in the care he provides them every day. Brian assists our newly hired Physician Assistants familiarizing them to the medical facilities, and to the local area. Our PA’s become a close group of colleagues and friends.

Brian attended Weber State University in Ogden, Utah where he received a B.S. in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry and graduated in 2003. Brian went on to attend Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon where he graduated in 2007 with a M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies. Brian’s training and professional experience comes from rotations in Family Medicine, Inpatient, internal medicine, Obstetrics and Women’s Health, Orthopedics, and Emergency Medicine. Brian participated as part of a Humanitarian Aid Relief Team in Ghana, Africa and as a Human Anatomy Lab Instructor at Weber State University.

Brian enjoys spending time with his Family and fishing when he has an opportunity.

Sara came to work for South Coast Orthopaedic Associates as a Physician Assistant April 2014. Sara’s goal was to work in an orthopedic medicine setting where there was opportunity to contribute to quality healthcare for patients, and be an advocate of wellness. Sara has been successful in reaching these goals here with South Coast Orthopaedics and continues to gain academically and professionally.

Sara’s clinical training includes internal medicine, family medicine, surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, orthopedics, pediatrics, emergency care, infectious disease, and psychiatry. In 2003-2016 Sara was a Certified Athletic Trainer.

Sara grew up in Oregon and moved to California to attend college and then moved to the mid-west to go to PA school. Oregon was home to Sara and she wanted to move back to be closer to family and friends. She enjoys traveling, renovating her home, sewing, and going to Concerts/festivals when she is not working.

Matt joined South Coast Orthopaedic Associates January of 2017, after graduating from Salus University, with a Masters in Health Sciences, Physician Assistant. After graduating, Matt relocated his family from Idaho, to Oregon. Matt has always had an interest in the musculoskeletal system and felt that orthopedics was the right fit. Patient care is important to Matt and he feels there is nothing more satisfying than to see patients improve. Matt also believes in a team-based approach to patient care and that collaboration improves patient outcomes.

Matt’s clinical training and rotations included a variety of specialties including orthopedics. Matt speaks English, and is fluent in spoken and written Spanish.

Matt and his family enjoy spending time outdoors. They like hiking in the mountains, exploring the beach, and spending time at the park. When they get the chance they like to travel. He also enjoys fly-fishing, bicycling, water sports and exploring the Oregon coast with his family.
